This one came to me while I was watching the History Channel’s series, “Clash of the Gods,” specifically, their episode on Medusa. The narrator has been going through a rough time, but she’s about to make a pivotal decision…

You always seem to make me feel like I am her
That woman with the lonely eyes and snakes in her hair
You’ve locked her in a silent and darkened room
That woman with the empty heart so unable to care

I’m turning everyone into stone
I’m shattered and broken; I’m alone

Winter has come for her, this I know
Wandering these quiet halls of snow
Your hard words freeze me, chilly and cold
I’m left wanting all the love you’ll never show

(But) I’m turning my back on you; I won’t stay
My road is clear now, I’m walking away
