I have come to a disturbing conclusion:

I am a lazy writer.

I didn’t used to be this way — back when I was starting out, I was writing all the time, no matter what I had going — but somewhere over the last couple years…

Since it is getting to be that time of year, I have drawn up some goals for myself, to hopefully knock myself out of this insidious writing funk. The most important of the bunch is number one:

“Write at least one story (not flash) per month.”

Could I do better? Sure. I’m certain of it. But one solid story a month is a decent goal, and one that should help overturn this laziness.

I’ve also made a goal to write more linked stories (see my ‘Fiction’ page for series lists) this next year. I’ve always admired collections like the “Sherlock Holmes” stories, “Chronicles of Krystonia,” and others. I’ve spent the last few years dreaming about putting together one of my own.

The other day I realized I had no more excuses for putting it off.

Here goes.

    1. Yeah, we’ll see how it goes. I just woke up one day this week and went “OMG! How on earth did I forget where I was going?”

This is a (somewhat) desperate attempt to winch myself out of the ditch and back on the road.
